Open it and there are rows of wide elastic loops, each one cut generously enough to grip a fat rubber comfort grip — not just a thin aluminium shaft. Your hooks sit in size order, held firm, tips covered. That width is the whole point. Most crochet hook cases are built around slim hooks, so the moment you own a set with moulded comfort handles they either will not push in or they slide straight back out. Two Builds, Same Job

The case comes in two versions. They hold the same kit; they sit differently in a bag.

• Double zipper — 17.5 x 14.5 x 4 cm (6.9 x 5.7 x 1.6 in). Two panels of elastic slots, deeper through the body, opens flat like a book. Botanical, Cashew, Green Lily, Pink Lily, Pink Blossom, Green Peony, Blue Boho and Geometric.
• Single zipper — 18.5 x 14 x 2.5 cm (7.28 x 5.51 x 0.98 in). Three panels of slots, a touch longer and noticeably slimmer. Blue Breeze, Pastel Pink, Black Diamond and Rustic Red.

Choose the double zipper if you want depth for chunky handles and bulkier notions, the single if you want the slimmest case that will still swallow the set.

Either way the hooks lie flat rather than standing up, so overall length is set by the case, not by your longest hook.

Against a roll-up hook case. A roll shows every size at a glance and takes slim hooks beautifully. It also leaves the tips exposed and gives loose notions nowhere to go. This zips shut over everything and has two closed pockets, so markers and scissors travel with the hooks instead of in a separate tin.

Against a case built for slim hooks. The loops here are cut wide on purpose. If your set has moulded rubber or soft-touch handles, that is the difference between a case you use and one that sits in a drawer.

Sizing, Materials & Care

Coated Oxford fabric outer with a light interior lining, metal zip pulls, stitched elastic loops. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth; don't machine wash, and let it dry fully open if it gets wet.

A new case is firm out of the packet and the loops are tight for the first few uses. That is the elastic doing its job — it settles within a week of normal use.

What is the best way to store crochet hooks?
Sorted by size, held individually, and closed in. Individual loops stop hooks knocking against each other and blunting the tips, size order means you stop hunting, and a zip means nothing escapes into the bottom of a bag. A single open pouch does none of those three.

Will it fit ergonomic hooks with the fat rubber handles?
Yes — that is what the wide loops are for. It also holds slim bamboo, steel and aluminium hooks, so a mixed collection is fine.

Does it come with crochet hooks?
No, it is sold empty. Everything in the photographs is there to show scale and is not included.

How many hooks does it hold?
A full working set, with the mesh and zip pockets still free for everything else. We would rather not quote a slot count we haven't verified on a physical case — and in practice the number that matters is not the slot count anyway: chunky comfort grips take one slot each, while slim aluminium and steel hooks will happily share. Will TSA confiscate crochet hooks?
Crochet hooks are generally permitted in US carry-on luggage, though the final decision always sits with the officer at the checkpoint. Small scissors have their own limits, so check the current rules before you pack them. The zipped case at least means everything can be shown at once rather than tipped out.

What is a hook keeper?
A small clip or loop that holds one hook to your project so it doesn't slip out of the stitches. Different tool, different job — this is storage for the whole set between projects.
