Unzip the front and the whole face of this bag folds down flat into your lap. Pens and scissors stand upright in their elastic loops. Floss shows through the mesh. And behind it all, in a round compartment shaped like the thing it is protecting, your hoop lies flat with the work still stretched on it.
That is the idea. Most craft bags are a rectangle you drop a circle into, and the hoop ends up wedged at the bottom under everything heavier. This one is a circle. The padded shell keeps its shape whether it is packed full or nearly empty, so a work in progress travels unbent and arrives ready to pick up.
It is a proper needlework bag rather than a tote with pockets sewn in: two zip-around compartments, a flat pocket in the lid for fabric and patterns, and a handle you can actually carry across a car park.

What Is Inside
Three separate places to put things, each doing a different job.
- The main compartment — the deep half at the back, opened by its own zip. This is where hoops go, laid flat and held against the back panel by a webbing strap with a hook-and-loop tab. There is a zipped mesh pocket across it for floss, so you can see a colour without unpacking to find it.
- The front compartment — its own zip, its own lid. An elastic strap across the top holds pens, markers, a seam ripper, scissors and a ruler standing upright where you can grab them. Four open slip pockets run underneath for bobbins, needle cases and oddments.
- The front lid — the part most bags waste. It carries a flat zipped pocket sized for aida, linen, felt sheets and printed charts, so your fabric travels flat rather than folded.
Sold empty. The hoops, floss and tools in the photographs are there to show the fit and are not included.

How It Opens
Two zips, each running right around its own half of the circle, so either compartment opens fully flat without disturbing the other. The main zip is two-way — start it from whichever side you are sitting on, or open it part way to reach in without the lid dropping.
Lay the bag on a table and unzip the front and you have a tray: tools upright on the near side, fabric in the lid pocket, nothing rolling away. Zip it shut and the round shell goes back to protecting what is inside.
Who It Is For
This suits you if you stitch somewhere other than one fixed chair. A stitching group, a car, a waiting room, a garden in summer. It is built for the person who wants one bag that holds the hoop, the floss and the work in progress together, instead of a carrier bag and three pouches.
That makes it as much an embroidery travel bag as a storage case. The padded shell is there precisely because bags get set down on hard floors, packed into car boots and carried on laps — and because the thing you most want to protect is the piece you have already put forty hours into.
Cross stitch, surface embroidery, needlepoint, punch needle and hand-sewing projects all pack the same way. Knitters and crocheters use it too, for notions and a small project, though it is not designed to feed yarn.

How This Compares
Against a craft tote. A tote carries more and protects nothing. Anything rigid ends up on its side at the bottom. Here the hoop compartment is the whole back half of the bag and it is shaped for the job.
Against a clear vinyl or mesh project pouch. Pouches are cheap and you can see into them, which is genuinely useful. What they do not do is stand up, keep their shape, or separate your tools from your fabric. This does all three, and the mesh pocket inside gives you the visibility anyway.
Against a hard case. A rigid box protects well and is awkward to carry and heavy for what it holds. This sits in between: a padded shell that holds its shape, in a bag that hangs off two fingers.
Against a drawstring bag. Nothing inside a drawstring bag has a place. Everything here does, which is the difference between packing up in ten seconds and tipping the lot out to find your scissors.
Sizing, Materials and Care
- Shape — round, with a smaller round pocket on the front face.
- Size — 13.8 in / 35 cm across the body, 5.1 in / 13 cm deep, with a 9.4 in / 24 cm front pocket and a 4.3 in / 11 cm handle drop. Measured on the Leaves colourway.
- Outer — 600D Oxford fabric, closely woven and easy to wipe.
- Lining — pale grey, with a padded insert through the shell.
- Handles — webbing, reinforced at the base with stitched leather-look patches and wrapped with a leather-look grip.
- Zips — two, one per compartment; the main opening is two-way.
- Colours — Blue, Grey, Purple and a dark navy Leaves print.
- Care — sponge clean with warm water and a little mild detergent, then let it dry open and out of direct sun. Do not machine wash; it will soften the padded shell.

Questions People Ask
What is a needlework bag?
It is a bag built around the shape of stitching equipment rather than around a shopping load — somewhere for hoops to lie flat, floss to stay sorted and tools to stay upright, so a project can be packed and unpacked without being taken apart. This is that, in a round zip-around case.
What is a good bag to hold cross stitch projects?
One that keeps the fabric flat and the hoop uncrushed, and separates the sharp things from the fabric. The flat lid pocket takes aida and charts, the main compartment holds the hooped work, and pens and scissors live in their own loops in the front, away from anything they could mark.
Will my hoops fit?
The main compartment is a 13.8 in / 35 cm circle, so ordinary working hoops sit in flat with room around them, and several will nest together. Very large hoops and frames are the limit — one customer with a full set found the biggest ring in it would not go in. If you work on something unusually large, measure it against 35 cm before ordering. (Asked by a customer in a review rather than taken from search results.)
Is it a good gift for someone who enjoys cross stitching?
It is one of the more popular reasons people buy it, and it gives well because it is useful on day one whatever they stitch — it arrives empty, so there is nothing to duplicate and nothing that has to match their taste in patterns.
Does it come with any supplies?
No. The bag is sold empty. Everything shown inside it in the photographs is there for scale.
Is there a shoulder strap?
No — it carries by the two webbing handles, which have a leather-look wrap so they sit comfortably together in one hand.

Four colours, one shape, and a hoop that finally has somewhere proper to travel.

It is even better than I imagined. The quality is excellent, the handles even have leather embellishments. It was delivered several days earlier than expected too.
Great bag, lots of room for all your embroidery needs. Way bigger than I I thought it was based on the pics (awesome)! Material is a little cheap for the price I paid but I think it should hold up alright. Shipping also took a bit but it got here eventually.
A lot bigger than I expected, which is great because it really allows for you to carry all sizes of hoops, big or small. It seems to be made of this really tough durable material, zippers slide and open and close very easily, handles seem to be well stitched on. All in all very impressed and enthusiastic with the order.
It is larger than I expected. However, it's very well made and will hold all the embroidery items for current project, around the house or traveling. I'm very happy with the purchase and would put from this seller again.

Fits all my supplies and hoops perfectly
one thing I would correct, the really huge ring does not fit the bag. i happen to have the whole set. other than that, is perfect.
This bag is incredibly well made and perfect for sewing jobs, or any hobby that requires a bunch of little odds and ends to keep track of.
Even though my hoops are only 4” they still fit in this beautifully ! And a place for everything. Love it !!
Very happy with this purchase. Zippers all work great and overall quality is excellent. Will purchase from seller again.
This is perfect for organizing my embroidery supplies. Thank you!
The bag was exactly as pictured and fits all my necessities.
Great bag. I love it!!! Highly recommend.
Arrived in time. Looks really well made and all the pockets will help a lot with carrying all my cross stitch supplies.
Very nice organizer bag. Perfect size and features.
This is exactly what I needed to better organize my craftings!
My daughter in law was excited to use this!
Arrived on time, and the item was of good quality.
Love love love! I have three cross stitch projects in there, plus pencils, measuring tapes, hoops, needles, scissors and everything else you need. I reckon I could easily fit another few projects in.
Sturdy, tidy and looks great!
This is the perfect bag my embroidery and cross stitch. It’s roomie without being too big. I’ve already added the necessary notions, tools, and floss for my next few projects. Love the zippered pockets and the section to store my work in progress to keep it protected). I’d definitely recommend this bag to my friends.
Exactly what I wanted! It's great!
Fabulous! My daughter loves it! This was just what she wanted.
Great gift for a craft person
Nice item, but not the quality I expected for the price.
Item is exactly as described. Good quality and a great way to organize needle work project supplies.
A very handy and pretty way to carry embroidery projects!
The shop says it is in the UK, but my package was shipped from California. It was obviously mass produced, not handmade, and even had what looked like an Amazon label. While the quality and structure are fine, I would rather have supported a real small business than what seems like a dropshipper.
